안녕하세요! 다온 쏘잉입니다. 티스토리에 본격적으로 글을 포스팅하게 되었는데...... 나쁜 소식부터 올리게 되었네요 ㅠㅠ 4월 30일에 컴퓨터 패턴 재봉기 반전 장치가 달린 모델 납품이 있었는데, 잘 준비를 해서 화물로 보내게 되었습니다.

On April 30th, we had a delivery scheduled for a computer-controlled pattern sewing machine equipped with a flipping device, and we sent it out via freight after careful preparation.
4월 30일 6시정도에 도착을 해서 직원 분께 잘 받았다는 연락을 받았습다. 근데 다음날인 5월 1일 노동절을 시작으로 휴무가 쭉 있었습니다. 휴무가 끝난 뒤.......
The shipment arrived around 6:00 PM on April 30th, and I received confirmation from a staff member that it had been safely received. However, there was a long holiday break starting the next day, May 1st, for Labor Day. After the holidays were over...
5월 4일 아침에 카톡이 다다다닥 오길래 뭐지?? 해서 봤는데....... 화면이 깨졌다는거에요....... 그러면서 영상에서는 제가 조립하면서 조였던 부속도 너덜너덜 움직이더라고요.......처음엔 진짜 뭐지??? 했습니다.
On the morning of May 4th, I received a flurry of KakaoTalk notifications, and when I checked to see what was happening... they told me the screen was broken. In the video they sent, even the parts I had tightened during assembly were shaking and hanging loose. At first, I was truly at a loss for words.
이렇게 완벽하게 조립해서 에어 선, 전원만 연결하면 바로 사용하실 수 있게 조립을 해드렸거든요......
I had assembled it perfectly so that it could be used immediately just by connecting the air line and the power...
그리고 항상 화물로 보낼때는 터치패널을 기계쪽에 붙이고, 스티리폼이나 원단을 대서 보내거든요?? 화물차를 좀 쌔게 모시는 분들은 차가 흔들리면서 깨지는 경우가 예전에 있었던터라 항상!!! 깨지지 않게 준비해서 보내드립니다.
And whenever we ship via freight, we always attach the touch panel to the machine side and use Styrofoam or fabric as padding. Since there were cases in the past where panels broke due to the vehicle shaking when driven roughly, we always prepare and ship them this way to prevent any breakage!
근데 아침부터 화면이 깨졌다고.......... 연락이 왔습니다.........우선 제가 포장을 잘 못한건지 확인을 위해 바로 거래처 대리님께 연락을 드려서 기계 주변을 둘러보면서 어디 찌그러진 부분이나 쓸린 흔적이 없는지 확인해 달라 요청을 드렸습니다.
But I received a call in the morning saying the screen was broken... First, to check if I had made a mistake in the packaging, I immediately contacted the manager at the client company and asked them to look around the machine to see if there were any dents or signs of scraping.
아니나 다를까 재봉기 뒷면에 찌그러진 부분을 확인....... 그러면서 대리님이 도착했을 때의 사진을 보내주셨어요.
Sure enough, they found a dented area on the back of the sewing machine. At the same time, the manager sent me photos from when the machine first arrived.
제가 외부에 있어서 1층에 내려두고 이거 싣고 가시면 됩니다. 하고 기사님이 상차 사진을 보내주셨는데 거래처 대리님이 하차했을 때 사진과 실렸던 모습이 다른거에요....어라?? 이때 확신 했습니다. 기사님이 기계를 넘기셨다............기사님들이 미싱은 잘 모르다보니 미싱의 무게 중심을 잘 몰라서 넘기는 경우가 진~~~~~~~~~~~~~짜 많습니다.

심지어 출발전에 기사님 이거 비싼 기계에요. 조심히 가셔야해요! 이렇게 말씀을 드리면 "아이 걱정하지 말아 미싱 많이 배송해봤어." 이러시고 900만원짜리 기계 넘긴 기사님도 계십니다..........
"I'm outside, so I've left it on the first floor. You can just load it and go," I told the driver. He then sent me a photo of the machine loaded on the truck, but it looked different from the photo the client's manager took when it was unloaded... "Wait, what?" That’s when I was certain. The driver had tipped the machine over... Since many drivers aren't familiar with sewing machines, they often don't realize where the center of gravity is, and it is extremely common for them to tip them over.

In fact, even when I tell them before they leave, "Sir, this is an expensive machine. You have to be very careful!" they respond with, "Don't worry, I've delivered plenty of sewing machines before." I've even had a driver say that and then tip over a machine worth 9 million won...
사고는 제가 안냈지만 당연히 책임은 저희에게 있죠?? 그래서 상황 파악을 완료한 뒤 바로 거래처 부장님께 연락을 드렸습니다. 이러한 일이 있었고, 이렇게 처리를 했다. 하고 말씀을 드렸습니다. 그리고 사실 제가 저 전화를 드리기 전에 앞뒤 생각안하고 바로 새 기계로 바꿔드려야 한다는 생각으로 바로 주문을 했습니다.

그래서 어떻게 되었느냐
Even though I wasn't the one who caused the accident, the responsibility naturally falls on us, right? So, as soon as I finished assessing the situation, I contacted the manager at the client company. I explained exactly what happened and how I was handling it.
Actually, even before I made that call, my immediate thought—without even weighing the pros and cons—was that I had to replace it with a brand-new machine, so I placed the order right away.

So, what happened next?
위챗으로 중국 거래처에 연락을 하면서 눈물을 흘리며 바로 주문을 했습니다. 이때는 보험처리가 되는지 안되는지도 모르는 상황에서 주문을 한거였거든요. 진짜 멘탈이 탈탈 나갔었습니다........

결국 5월 8일 보험처리가 완료되어 입금을 받았고, 거래처에서도 이미 4대를 사용중이던터라 이해해 주시고 기다려 주시기로 했습니다. 중국에도 노동절이 있어 휴무가 길어 바로 들어오진 못해 아마 다음주 쯤?? 납품을 해드릴거 같은데 그때 한번 더 마무리 포스팅을 해보도록 하겠습니다.
I reached out to my contact in China via WeChat and placed the order immediately, practically in tears. At that moment, I didn't even know if the insurance would cover it or not. My mind was completely blown...

In the end, the insurance claim was finalized on May 8th, and I received the payout. Since the client was already using four of our units, they were very understanding and agreed to wait. Because of the long Labor Day holiday in China as well, the new machine couldn't be shipped out immediately. It looks like the delivery will happen sometime next week. I'll make sure to share a final follow-up post once the delivery is complete!
